Hello Members & TT Followers around Australia,

As a follow up to our previous correspondence. Via Email

As a result of recent resignations and the cancellation of our championship shows, your club is in a holding pattern at the moment. Your thoughts and positive suggestions as to our future at the forthcoming AGM in December 2019 will be especially valuable.

In the meantime, the day to day business of the club, its routine formalities and our presentation to the public need to continue.

We have had discussions with Dogs Victoria and the strong preference is for the club to continue operating as normally as possible until an AGM can be had, to consider not only the business of the year past but also future directions.

As mentioned above, the AGM will be held in December, hopefully within the first two weeks and I would ask you to mark this period in your calendar until we can clarify the exact date. The period up to the AGM has been greatly simplified with the pressures of shows removed. Mindful of this, some roles within the club will continue as they have done in the past.

It is worth noting, I think, that although Sue Proctor, Bill Gale, Pam Martin and Dale McDonell have resigned from the committee for various and quite legitimate reasons; they all remain financial and interested members of the club, committed to the future of our wonderful breed.

To this end:

Sue Proctor has agreed to continue to hold the club’s books until transition, and to arrange the audit for presentation to the AGM and attend to any unforeseen bills.

This should largely be a formality, as to the best of our knowledge the club has no outstanding debts, and only one future commitment, to the RASV, for sashes to the Terrier Class, previously approved by full committee.

There is a small ‘non-members’ levy payable annually to Dogs Victoria. Following our discussions this levy has been deferred until the AGM.

Personally, and on behalf of members, I would like to thank Sue for this support to the club.

Dale McDonnell ( now resigned) remains on committee and as our Communication Officer, she is responsible for Newsletter and Facebook Page. Your content for posting continues to be welcome (subject to the usual moderation).

Likewise, I’d like to thank Dale for continuing this role and providing some continuity going forward.

Pam Martin unfortunately cannot continue as Vice President at the moment, but can maintain the role of club liaison officer for general breed and puppy enquiries.

She will continue to receive enquiries and refer prospective purchasers to relevant breeders.

Similarly, on behalf of members, I would like to thank Pam for maintaining this continuity and presenting a public face from the club to the community.

I hope this update finds everyone well and getting heaps of enjoyment from our four footed friends.

Kind regards and best wishes,

Ian Cooke.
